A PhD of distinction

Created by George one month ago
I was honoured to support Kathy on her doctoral journey that involved me learning as much as I taught.  Winning a special ‘distinction’ scholarship for postgraduate study at Queen’s University, she worked with me, another physicist exploring advanced diagnostic methods in orthopaedics. Kathy set me on a career in academia: she was the first of 50 PhDs that I have supported. Then she took the learning back to my old School! Taken too early. Not forgotten.
